The Mayor of Salisbury, NC gives Eleanor Qadirah an award for her 11th Annual Rowan Blues and Jazz This week, Ronnie Gallagher and Mike London go Roaming to South Rowan High School where they speak with head football coach Jason Rollins and player Cadarreus Mason about last year’s frustrating finish and their upcoming game. En la Feria de Salisbury NC — The Rowan County Fair Ronnie Gallagher and Mike London go “Roaming the County” this week with Salisbury Hornets Coach Joe Pinyan and quarterback John Knox. Pinyan and Knox discuss the season so far, and both give their thoughts on the upcoming game on Sept. 11 against West Rowan.
There’s a lot to think about when it comes to the future of music, and local residents Fantom Hands (misspelled for image coolness, of course) have taken it upon themselves to help pioneer the electronic music circuit (ha!), especially right here in NC. The band has been offered to play live with a few other electronic and experimental rock bands from Charlotte, Greensboro, and even Tennessee. The only real issue is that Salisbury itself isn’t exactly the biggest music scene in general, so gigs are hard to come by for the band. If you think you can help them out let them know. They will be playing their quieter and more relaxing pop material in what they call warmup shows at Tastebuds in the upcoming weeks to help them get ready to start jamming really loudly at actual venues. “While not everyone will be able to dig every aspect of our music, we’d at least like to think people were entertained by a few sounds, the general goofyness, and the lights we’ll have going while we play. ” They already have new equipment and lights coming in. With your help it won’t be too long before you can feel the noisy groove right here in Salisbury. You will at least be able to say you haven’t experienced much like it before. A short parody I made to advertise the Amadeus Youth Chorus. This was shot in an hour on a borrowed XL1. Special thanks to Mark McAbee and St. Luke’s Episcopal church.
Helicopter — West Rowan High School ROTC After nearly a year of preparation and in 3 days of Knocking on doors, ministering in local parks, conducting basketball camps, and having nightly events @ the Civic Center in Salisbury, NC, over 130 people received Christ. The events were called Reach Rowan (July 18th-22nd). Just imagine if we were intentional like this all year round and were faithful to share the Gospel regularly — this one county could change the world!!! Praise God for all the hard work and prayer that went into this God-centered event.!!! West Rowan High School Football |
